About HSH

Hockey For ALL

Develop physical strength and health through exercise.

Our athletes and their families often tell us how much playing adaptive ice hockey improves their performance in their PT sessions. The increased strength, stamina, and flexibility they develop while skating on the ice also helps make their everyday lives easier by giving them more mobility and the confidence to perform tasks that most able-bodied people take for granted.

Develop character, camaraderie, and sportsmanship.

Many of our athletes have never been able to participate in organized sports or be part of a team. Playing adaptive ice hockey allows them to be part of a team with their peers, competing against other teams in similar situations. HSH promotes and teaches the principles of teamwork, competition, esprit de corps, and good sportsmanship.

Develop confidence, social skills, and independence.

The world continually tells people with physical disabilities what they can't and shouldn't do and what their limitations are. It's no wonder then, that some tend to focus on limitations rather than possibilities. Playing adaptive ice hockey demonstrates to our athletes that they can do anything on the ice that a traditional stand-up player can do. This gives them the confidence that is required for social independence, which then translates into their personal and professional lives, as well.
